Fruit Nut Hot Cereal
Sunday, May 9, 2010 at 12:33PM This easy breakfast is one of my husband’s weekend favorites. I got the basic idea from Dr. Joel Fuhrman’s Eat For Health. I’ve made a few simple modifications, the most significant of which is that I use whole grain barley flakes instead of oatmeal. I like the flavor and texture of barley, not to mention it’s excellent nutritional profile and low glycemic index. You can find barley flakes in the bulk section of health food stores and better grocery stores (it looks just like oatmeal, so be sure to mark your package).
